Good Friday with Bob Goff

An amazing community-wide event with nearly 6,500 in attendance. Best-selling author and all-around great guy, Bob Goff, shared the power of what Christ did for each of us on the cross.

Project overview:

The Brief: Most everyone has a church they spend the holidays at. Whether it’s their weekly worship community or a church they attend with family for those special Sundays. So inviting the community to your church on Easter morning is a tough ask. So, why not invite everyone to an event that doesn’t conflict with their normal Easter routine.

That’s exactly what The Woodlands UMC did for their community-wide Good Friday Service. A time to not only reflect on the importance of Christ’s death on the cross but a time to starting point everyone towards the empty tomb.

Details: By inviting Best Selling Author, Bob Goff, to help us share that message was what we considered the tipping point for drawing the community out for an additional Holy Week service. We designed a campaign look that announced our special guest speaker paired with a headline and type treatment that drew influence from Bob’s best selling books, Love Does and Everybody Always. With a comprehensive marketing plan including local publications, social media, direct mail, and billboards we shared the event across the community.

Results: With over 6,500 in attendance the event was a huge success. An amazing time of worship, prayer and praise that left the community asking, “is this happening next year too?”
