Reach Capital Campaign
A capital expansion project to meet the current and future growth needs of The Woodlands United Methodist Church. Raising $30M for renovation, expansion and enhancement projects.
Project overview:
The Brief: Following the success of their 2012 campaign, The Woodlands UMC was a little concerned with announcing another capital campaign in 2016. Was it too soon? How would membership respond? Would we have the response we had in 2012 or would we fall short?
All valid concerns.
Knowing the giving nature of their membership, leadership decided to move forward. We creatively supported that decision by creating a campaign that focused on the concept of REACH.
Details: REACH seemed like a natural fit in keeping with the vision of The Woodlands UMC. To reach people and spread the gospel around the corner and around the world. Developing and defining a concept to support this burden became our mission.
We made the word REACH actionable.
Reach beyond your comfort zone.
(Small Groups/Bible Studies)Who could you reach if you shared the gospel? (Discipleship)
Who could we reach if we moved beyond the walls of the church? (Local Missions)
How many could we reach around the world? (Global Missions)
Visually, we built upon the reach concept by shooting principle footage and photography from the reader’s point of view. Putting the viewer in the action.
Results: The campaign was a success. Raising 30 million in pledges.
Through the generosity of membership, the campaign allowed for the much-needed remodeling of the children’s area, adult discipleship and the grand atrium. As of July 2020 is nearing completion.
